Pretty impressive night, in all ways. Great crowd, too.

U2 really must be the biggest band in the world right now. They were pros, and while their values were on display (e.g. support for Amnesty International, and a meaningful acknowledgement of the Pike River mine disaster victims — a scrolling list of their names on the huge screen) mainly it was a night about their artistry as songwriters and performers.

They looked good and delivered a stand out show from start to finish. Boy, that guy Bono can sing! He has such a liquid and strong voice. The musicianship was amazing and although at times they had much distance between them as they spread out around the 360 degree stage, they were powerfully in sync.

And, a HUGE noise from four musicians. – P
