Looks like this is the month of the retreads. Look at this guy:

We’ve see this racist rissole before. How tiresome.

ACT party leader David Seymour looks relieved there’s another stand-up comic (hopefully) joining the caucus. It’ll take the “be entertaining” burden off him.

My experience, working at the same radio station as Henry in 2011, was that he was BELOVED by women of a certain age, who tittered at his comedy routine (‘oh he is such a naughty boy!‘) and enjoyed his ‘politically incorrect’ ranting and ravings.

Less commented on: Henry’s undeclared ‘Ambassador’ status (read: cash and perks) for SkyCity Casinos — and the soft blowjob ‘interviews’ he duly gave the SkyCity executives on his show. I saw it happening.

But of course, SkyCity was an equal opportunity bribe-offerer: Mike Hosking, working for the competing radio station, was also a beneficiary of SkyCity’s ‘Ambassador’ programme, which he was eventually forced to address, see: Mike Hosking: ‘a note of some clarification’ re SkyCity.

Anyway, let’s see how it works out. The last time Paul Henry stood for Parliament was 1999, for the National Party in Wairarapa. He lost to Labour’s Georgina Beyer (who became NZ’s first transgender MP) by more than 3,000 votes. Beyer flipped the 7,000+ majority of outgoing MP Wyatt Creech for the traditionally conservative electorate. Whatever Paul Henry was selling, Wairarapa wasn’t buying.

No fear of that this time.

Speaking … on RNZ’s Midday Report, Henry said he imagined he would receive a high list ranking, but was waiting on a decision from the board.
“You’d have to be a fool not to put me right up the top,” he quipped.

He’ll be given a ‘winnable’ place on the ACT Party list — but not “right up the top”. Somewhere under Seymour and Nicole McKee, former gun lobbyist, now deputy leader of ACT.

But oh ho, imagine if Henry gets in, but ACT is in the opposition!
Oh dear, he’d just be sitting there on an MP’s salary and doing nothing. Hmm … deja vu?
